Vietnam has achieved something remarkable—increasing forest cover from 28% to nearly 42% in just three decades! This stunning turnaround offers hope for forest restoration worldwide.

The “5 Million Hectares Reforestation Program” combines native species planting, natural regeneration, and community stewardship to restore degraded landscapes. These new forests protect watersheds, provide wildlife habitat, and help Vietnam meet its climate commitments.

Most inspiring are the youth-led tree planting initiatives where students from universities across Vietnam spend weekends planting trees in areas affected by deforestation, creating a new generation of forest stewards.

Have you ever participated in a tree planting event? What native tree species would you choose to plant in your area?
